Background and Purpose
Coventry’s Image Working Group was launched in October 1997 by the city’s new events and tourism agency, Coventry and Warwickshire Promotions.
The aim was to draw together major players in the city – the City Council, the two universities, the Chamber and business – with a major stake in raising the profile and improving the image of Coventry. More >>Our Work
Chaired by Coventry University from the outset, the Image Working Group commissioned and devised a new city brand and slogan for Coventry – Coventry Inspires – which was launched in May 1999, using a public vote as a key decider.
Early applications for the slogan included signage on the Coventry inner Ring Road and a daily strap line over the leader column of the Coventry Evening Telegraph. More >>
